Welcome Back

Posted on December 1, 2025December 21, 2025

It’s been 2 years since I left the public tarot space, and a much-needed break. I’ve been surprised to discover a desire to rejoin the conversation about using cartomancy as a source of introspection, appreciation, and community. This inspiration comes, as always, from you, my friends, especially JK, Saoirse, Juli, and Laura; and my mentors, Tom Benjamin, who has taught me to be a thoughtful, fluid, compassionate, and contextual reader, Katie Flowers for her sensitive and sensical approach to asking good questions and interpreting helpful answers, and, very recently, Ina of Taproute Tarot, with her well-researched, thoroughly documented, and carefully presented videos on tarot history (a refreshing rarity!).

You may recognize me from a previous iteration, a blog and channel under a different name that aimed to focus on tarot techniques and history, but which often wandered off into other threads that, in retrospect, weren’t where I wanted to put my energy or encourage others. My aim now is to share ideas about reading, leaving as much consumerism out of the conversation as possible. After all, our skill in reading the cards is not dependent on having access to one particular deck or another, nor is it increased by spending money or accumulating objects. We improve by spending time reflecting, learning, and experiencing the everyday magic of our innate intuition.

To that end, this blog will focus much more narrowly on reading techniques, symbolism, how cartomancy or divination operate, and how we can use these tools for personal investigation and helping others with their questions. This blog goes hand-in-hand with a new YouTube channel, Water Moon Cards. I’ve been thinking a lot about topics and content types, and what works well in different mediums. Moving image and text each have their strengths and limitations, so some content will naturally lend itself to either a video or journal entry. I’ll also be posting all my show notes (links to source material) here, rather than creating extended video descriptions. Regardless of the medium, I hope you will interact and participate in the discussion.

Welcome again, and thank you for joining me.

Yours truly,

~Luna

Creative Journaling: A Tool for Introspection

Posted on December 19, 2025December 19, 2025

Among other functions, tarot and other forms of cartomancy can be a helpful tool for introspection. In reading for myself, I don’t usually ask questions like “what will happen”. I don’t find the answers to those useful, seeing that the answer only pertains to a specific set of influences at…
